041 Why Do Husbands and Dads Struggle With Temptation—Even When They Know It’s Wrong?
Sep 7, 202623 min
Husbands and dads, Why do we often justify our choices in the moment, even when we know they go against what is right? What areas of your life are you most vulnerable to temptation, and are your daily choices helping you overcome or making you more vulnerable? Could the biggest battle with temptation be less about the temptation itself and more about what you believe about God, yourself, and what you need? Many husbands and dads struggle with temptation even when they already know what is right, but the battle is often deeper than the temptation itself—it involves what we believe about God, ourselves, and what we truly need. In this episode, Glenn explains how temptation works, why the enemy tries to create doubt about God’s goodness, and how those lies can lead us to justify choices we know are wrong. You’ll discover why the cravings of the flesh can become louder than the truth we already know and how renewing our minds through God’s Word helps us fight the battle differently. Through the examples of Adam and Eve and Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness, this episode shows that temptation is a real struggle—but one we can face through a deeper relationship with God and His truth. Learn how to recognize temptation, remove unnecessary opportunities for failure, and draw near to God so you can lead yourself, your marriage, and your family with greater integrity and confidence.
