When Two Feet Face the Same Direction
Sep 8, 20261h 1mS1
What happens when part of us knows where we want to go, but another part is still holding back? In this episode of Meditations on Leadership , Don reflects on the hidden cost of indecision, the energy we lose when we are divided within ourselves, and what can begin to happen when clarity, intention, and action finally align. He is joined by Haley Bezon, founder of Hearty Roots , for a conversation about courage, entrepreneurship, leadership, and the difficult choices that come with building something you deeply believe in. A conversation about getting clear, trusting what you know, and finding the courage to put both feet behind the direction you choose. What if courage is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to keep moving while fear is still present? In this episode of Meditations on Leadership , Don reflects on the moments when fear and self-doubt collide with a deeper sense of knowing that it is time to move. He is joined by Bill Walch, whose career has spanned journalism, philanthropy, institutional leadership, global health, consulting, and nonprofit governance. Together, they explore where our ideas about courage come from, what courage asks of leaders, and how our understanding of it changes over a lifetime. At the center is a simple question: when fear meets us at the edge of something important, will we let it make our lives smaller, or find the courage to step toward a life that can still expand? In this episode, Don reflects on the hidden cost of becoming indispensable, not only the toll it can take on us, but the ways it can unintentionally limit the growth, confidence, and capacity of those around us. He is joined by longtime friend Larry Bartlett, an engineer, architect, business founder, educator, mentor, and community leader whose life has been shaped by both professional accomplishment and a deep commitment to serving others. Together, they explore the tension between helping and over functioning, solving problems and developing people, being useful and needing to be needed, and what it means to lead in a way that allows others to discover what they are capable of. At its heart, this episode asks a challenging question: Is the measure of leadership how necessary we become, or how much stronger others become because of us? What happens when leadership asks us not to step forward, but to step back? In this episode, Don reflects on the difference between doing less and being more, and on the quieter forms of leadership that emerge when we release the need to control, solve, or remain at the center. He also explores the identity shift that can come when a role ends, but the habits and weight of responsibility remain. Don is joined by Fred Adair, a CEO advisor and leadership coach with more than 25 years of experience helping leaders navigate strategy, succession, organizational change, and the personal psychology of leadership. Together, they discuss why stepping away can be so difficult, how leaders can prepare an organization for life after them, and what it means to remain purposeful without needing to be indispensable. What happens after we say, “I’m sorry”? In this episode, Don reflects on why an apology is only the beginning, and what it takes to rebuild trust when our behavior falls short of who we want to be. He is joined by Stephanie Welch, Executive Director of Trekkers , to explore why leaders avoid circling back, how shame and perfectionism can interfere with accountability, and what it takes to turn regret into changed behavior. Together, they consider how leaders can create cultures where grace does not replace accountability, but makes honest repair possible. What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
