Episode 619: Kairos Prison Ministry with guest Brian Gibson - Audio
In this powerful episode of LoveTalk Network, Coach Kerri and Cathy sit down with Brian Gibson of Kairos Prison Ministry. Brian spent eight years in a Texas prison. Halfway through his sentence, he attended a Kairos weekend — not as a volunteer, but as a participant. What he experienced there completely changed his life. For the first time, he felt God’s unconditional love in a real and personal way. The anger and isolation that had defined him were replaced with a desire to serve. Today, Brian has been a Kairos volunteer for 15 years and now serves as the Fundraising Chair and New Starts Coordinator for the state of Texas. In this conversation he shares: -What a Kairos weekend actually looks like -The ministry’s powerful motto: “Listen, Listen, Love, Love” -Incredible stories of transformation (including rival gang members and a young football player) -How Kairos also serves the families of the incarcerated and youthful offenders -Practical ways anyone can get involved — even if you’ve never stepped foot in a prison You’ll also hear about the first annual Kairos of Texas Golf Tournament coming up on October 20th. Whether you have a personal connection to incarceration or simply want to understand how God is moving behind prison walls, this episode will leave you encouraged and inspired.
