Episode #10
p.10 Designing a Home Before Meeting Its Owner
What happens when a home is designed for someone the designer has never met? In this episode, I share an unusual renovation project in central Tokyo. Instead of simply renovating an apartment and selling it empty, we imagined one future resident and designed the floor plan, storage, furniture, lighting, and curtains around her daily life. I also look at the difference between home staging and creating a fully finished home, and why even a few centimeters can matter in a city where every square meter is valuable. A story about renovation, real estate, and designing not just a property, but the life that may begin inside it.
