Episode #16
Richard Dunne: Director, The Harmony Project
On this episode of Leading by Nature, Richard Dunne, Director of The Harmony Project, joins Giles Hutchins to talk about putting nature and sustainability at the heart of learning. Richard shares how his years as a head teacher, and the book Harmony by the then Prince of Wales, shaped a mission to help young people connect with nature. He and Giles discuss why education remains stuck in a mechanistic, siloed model, how children self-regulate and thrive when learning moves outdoors, and Richard's own turning point at Springwood after stepping away from headship after eighteen years. Richard also reflects on the Harmony Project's work with schools, farms, and even trauma healing for young people in Ukraine.
