Lucas and Luna explore the landscape of late-career reinvention in this show, focusing on professionals aged 50 and older who are crafting encore careers or navigating pre-retirement transitions. Each episode is a conversation grounded in real data and named cases: from a former marketing executive launching a nonprofit to a teacher retraining as a data analyst. Lucas, with his journalist's precision, anchors discussions in the numbers behind career shifts, such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics' projections for older worker participation or the ROI of second-career training programs. Luna, the engaged interlocutor, amplifies the human dimensions, asking the questions that matter to professionals facing these crossroads: How do you leverage decades of experience without being typecast? When does a 'phased retirement' make financial sense? What hidden job markets exist for seasoned workers? Together, they dissect company policies on phased retirement, the psychology of identity shifts,

Why Your Resume Is Costing You Encore Jobs
Sep 13, 202610 minS4
Late-career professionals often struggle to land paid advisory roles not because of a lack of skill, but because their resumes trigger unconscious bias in hiring managers. This episode explores the specific structural changes required to pivot from a chronological career history to an outcome-based portfolio resume. We examine how listing decades of duties can obscure recent strategic value, and we introduce the 'three-year relevance window' that executive recruiters are using to filter candidates. Lucas and Luna break down why traditional formats fail fifty-plus executives and offer concrete templates for rewriting experience to highlight adaptability and modern tool proficiency rather than tenure alone. #EncoreCareers #ExecutiveCoaching #CareerTransition #ResumeStrategy #AgeBias #FractionalRoles #BoardAdvisory #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #LucasAndLuna #SeniorTalent #HiringTrends #PortfolioResumes #CareerPivot #LeadershipDevelopment #JobSearchTips #ExecutivePresence #ModernWorkforce Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Lucas and Luna dissect the structural financial shock facing senior professionals transitioning into post-career roles. Moving beyond fractional consulting, they examine how the loss of equity compensation and pension vesting creates a hidden wealth gap for executives aged fifty to sixty-five. The conversation centers on specific data from late-2024 market surveys showing that two-thirds of these leaders accept base salaries thirty percent lower than their peak earnings, often overlooking the long-term compound interest impact on retirement security. This episode offers a concrete framework for valuing non-monetary assets like board access and network leverage, helping listeners negotiate total compensation packages that protect their future standard of living rather than just paying the bills today. #EncoreCareers #ExecutiveCompensation #LateCareerTransition #EquityVesting #PensionGap #BoardAdvisory #RetirementPlanning #FractionalLeadership #WealthManagement #CareerStrategy #SeniorExecutives #FinancialLiteracy #BusinessPodcast #FexingoBusiness #CareerDevelopment #InvestmentStrategy #CorporateGovernance #PreRetirement Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
We look at why senior professionals moving into encore careers often accept a thirty percent pay cut that quietly erodes their retirement security. By examining the specific mechanics of how fractional roles and advisory board positions are priced versus traditional employment, we reveal the hidden cost of the 'passion premium.' This episode breaks down the math behind compounding losses over a decade and offers a concrete framework for valuing your experience without getting stuck in low-equity advisory traps. #EncoreCareers #ExecutiveTransition #FractionalLeadership #RetirementPlanning #SalaryNegotiation #BoardAdvisoryRoles #CareerStrategy #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #SeniorExecutives #IncomeReplacement #ConsultingRates #PassionPremium #FinancialSecurity #LateCareer #ProfessionalBranding #ValueBasedPricing #LucasAndLuna Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Senior executives face a unique paradox: as they climb higher, their peer group shrinks until they are effectively isolated. This episode examines the hidden cost of executive loneliness and why traditional networking fails to solve it. We look at how former leaders can combat this isolation not by seeking more contacts, but by building structured 'third place' communities that offer intellectual sparring partners without the pressure of transactional value. Using insights from recent organizational psychology studies on mid-life career transitions, we explore how to design a post-C-suite life that maintains professional relevance while restoring personal connection. #ExecutiveLoneliness #CareerTransition #LeadershipDevelopment #MidLifeCareer #ProfessionalNetworks #OrganizationalPsychology #SecondAct #BusinessPodcast #FexingoBusiness #CareerAdvice #SeniorExecutives #Mentorship #CommunityBuilding #WorkLifeBalance #ExecutiveCoaching #ThoughtLeadership #PersonalBranding #NetworkingStrategies Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
The Executive Skill Stack That Pays in Encore Careers
Sep 9, 202610 minS4
Most late-career professionals focus on transferring their title, but the real value lies in bundling three specific skills into a marketable stack. We look at how former C-suite leaders are combining strategic foresight, operational discipline, and human capital expertise to command premium advisory fees. By anchoring their pricing to these discrete competencies rather than hourly rates, executives can build sustainable encore careers that don't depend on full-time employment. #EncoreCareers #ExecutiveAdvisory #SkillStacking #FractionalLeadership #CareerTransition #BusinessStrategy #HumanCapital #OperationalExcellence #ConsultingPricing #SeniorTalent #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #CareerAdvice #LeadershipDevelopment #PortfolioCareer #MidLifeCareerChange #ExecutiveSearch #FutureOfWork Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
