Episode #19
Geoengineering, Nature and the Voice of David Nicholl
In this episode, I sat down with David Nicholl, a poet, musician, traveller and committee member of Anti Geoengineering Scotland, for a wide-ranging conversation about the skies above us, public awareness, and the growing concern around geoengineering and weather modification. We explored how David first became interested in the subject, the work his group is doing across Scotland, and why he believes more people need to slow down, look up, and question what they are seeing. Along the way, we also touched on the challenges of speaking about controversial topics in a world full of noise, distraction and competing narratives. But this wasn’t all doom and gloom. A big part of our conversation came back to the importance of reconnecting with nature, creativity and community. David spoke beautifully about his solo travels through the Highlands and Islands, his love of pairing poetry with music, and the peace that comes from stepping away from the engineered world and back into the living landscape. We also played several of his songs, making this a thoughtful mix of big ideas, personal journey, and a reminder to stay grounded, keep creating, and find your tribe.
