Turning the Page: Dr. Trenton Honda Reflects on His JPAE Tenure
In this episode, host Carey Barry, MHS, PA-C, chair and associate clinical professor at Northeastern University, is joined by outgoing Journal of PA Education (JPAE) editor-in-chief and former JPAE Podcast host Trenton Honda, PhD, and managing editor Denise Rizzolo, PhD, to reflect on Honda’s four-year tenure and the evolution of the journal. They discuss JPAE’s transition to a fully digital, continuous publication model, increased submissions and expanded opportunities to connect readers with scholarship through social media, webinars, CME, PAEA Forum abstracts and the launch of the JPAE Podcast. Honda shares his commitment to making scholarly publishing more accessible through a supportive editorial process, mentoring new authors and creating opportunities for emerging researchers, including the importance of building strong research teams. The conversation also reflects on the relationships and collaboration that have shaped JPAE’s growth. As Honda prepares to pass the reins to incoming editor-in-chief Matthew Wright, PhD, PA-C, RD, he shares his gratitude for the JPAE community and his confidence in the journal’s next chapter.
