183. Strength Through Unity: Ukraine, Resilience: Special Guest Tamara Velsher: President and Founder of the U.S. Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, Founder of Eight Dimensions Charity, and an Ambassador of Cultural Diplomacy.
This interview is a part of the series: We Stand With Ukraine: One Episode at a Time: Strength Through Unity: Ukraine, Resilience, and the Power of Cultural Diplomacy In this deeply meaningful episode of The Social Psychic Radio Show, Jason welcomes Special Guest Tamara Velsher, President and Founder of the U.S. Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, founder of Eight Dimensions Charity, and an Ambassador of Cultural Diplomacy. This interview was first recorded around the time of the devastating July 8, 2024 missile attack on Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital in Kyiv, a moment that brought the human cost of the war in Ukraine into heartbreaking focus. Jason is also joined by Guest Co-Host Dr. Sergiy Borysov, who helps guide this important conversation about Ukraine, resilience, leadership, international cooperation, and the people whose lives continue to be shaped by war. Tamara Velsher is a nonprofit founder, educator, entrepreneur, community leader, and Ambassador of Cultural Diplomacy whose work is centered on building bridges between cultures, communities, businesses, and humanitarian organizations. As President and Founder of the U.S. Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, Tamara works to strengthen relationships between Ukraine and the United States through economic development, cultural exchange, networking, international collaboration, and community engagement. Her leadership is rooted in the message: “Strength Through Unity — Bringing Nations Together.” Tamara is also the founder of Eight Dimensions Charity, an organization focused on supporting people across eight interconnected dimensions of wellness: emotional, social, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, environmental, and spiritual. Her broader mission reflects a belief in compassion, service, shared humanity, and the idea that lasting change becomes possible when people work together across cultural and social boundaries. When Tamara first appeared on The Social Psychic Radio Show, Ukraine was confronting one of the most devastating attacks of the war. On July 8, 2024, Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital in Kyiv was struck during a large Russian missile attack across Ukraine. The strike severely damaged sections of the hospital, including pediatric care facilities, and became a powerful symbol of the toll the war has taken on children, families, medical professionals, and civilians. That tragedy became part of the emotional backdrop of Jason and Tamara’s original conversation. Jason, Tamara, and Dr. Sergiy Borysov discuss: Tamara’s journey since her first appearance on the show The ongoing humanitarian impact of the war in Ukraine The bombing of Okhmatdyt National Children’s Hospital The importance of remembering the human stories behind war Cultural diplomacy and its role in bringing people together Strengthening relationships between Ukraine and the United States The mission of the U.S. Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce Humanitarian outreach and nonprofit leadership The work of Eight Dimensions Charity Resilience in the face of uncertainty and loss Leadership during periods of crisis Building communities across borders The importance of unity in an increasingly divided world How individuals can become more engaged in humanitarian causes Why compassion and connection remain essential during times of conflict At the center of the episode is a simple but powerful idea: We are stronger when we work together. Dr. Borysov contributes to the conversation surrounding Ukraine, humanitarian concerns, cultural identity, international cooperation, and the continuing importance of keeping the experiences of ordinary people at the center of discussions about conflict. His participation adds another important perspective to a conversation centered on resilience, awareness, compassion, and global connection. This episode is about much more than politics or international affairs. It is about children. It is about families. It is about communities trying to survive and rebuild. It is about the people who choose to keep serving, advocating, connecting, and helping even in the face of extraordinary hardship. And it is about the belief that cultural understanding and human connection still matter. Nearly two years after their initial conversation, our message remains just as relevant today: Strength through unity. Bringing nations together. Building bridges instead of walls. And remembering that even during some of the darkest moments, humanity still has the ability to choose compassion, service, and connection. #Ukraine #CulturalDiplomacy #HumanitarianLeadership #StrengthThroughUnity #TheSocialPsychic Learn more about your ad choices.
