Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket : whimsical, high-budget, psychologically destabilizing reality television. Why are they making families betray each other in Candyland? The Love Hypothesis : cute enough, but not “cancel your plans and text your ex” good. Line of Fire : government agents, bad acting, next. Three Pines : murder, curling, electrocution, Canada said, “Let’s give them drama.” Charades : rich teenagers behaving like nobody has ever told them “no,” which, frankly, tracks. And finally, we face the shameful truth: the New York Times says there are 100 essential TV shows from this century, and we have apparently watched three. Maybe four on a generous day. Sue us.
