Episode #44
44 - Building a 500-Part Electric Motorcycle in a Rented Brooklyn Garage | Taras Kravtchouk, Tarform
Taras Kravtchouk was a graphic designer in Stockholm who moved to New York and rented a Park Slope garage. That garage became Tarform, the Brooklyn studio behind the Luna and Vera electric motorcycles. He walks Henrik through the whole build: roughly $40,000 of his own money and a $50K friends-and-family check, scrapping the first prototype entirely, finishing the second platform during lockdown with one engineer, delivering 35 handmade Founder Edition Lunas at $54,000 apiece, then designing the $18,000 Vera for real production volume. Plus what the tariff shock did to a 500-component supply chain. His warning for hardware founders: most companies fail not because the product is bad, but because the founder gets too attached to the idea and spends too much money defending it.
