The Aradhana Mandapam at the Sri Venkateshwara Temple site in Ramarama, South Auckland, was filled with devotion and a blend of languages on April 27, 2026, as community leaders gathered to discuss the progress of New Zealand’s first and largest Temple dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara. The conversation unfolded in Hindi, Fiji Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada, reflecting the diversity of the Indian Diaspora and the unity of purpose that binds them. The Panel comprised Sri Venkateshwara Devasthanam Charitable Trust Chairman Indra Sirigiri, Fundraising Committee Chairman Vasu Kunapuli, Community Leaders Dr Govardhan Mallela and Shanti Ravi, Shivani Arora (also Executive Committee member and Bhajan Mela Chairman) and Auckland Council’s only Fiji Indian Elected Member (Flatbush Subdivision of Howick Local Board) Krish Naidu. Together, they offered a panoramic view of the Temple’s journey, its purpose and the collective responsibility required to bring it to fruition.
