Goal Setting That Actually Works: Aligning With Your Season of Life
Aug 4, 202616 min
Success isn't about having bigger dreams—it's about pursuing the right dreams for you and the season of life you're in. In this episode, Miranda shares a practical approach to setting meaningful goals, staying motivated through setbacks, and using visualization to build confidence both in and out of the saddle. You'll learn why your goals need to align with your values and current season of life, how writing them down and using SMART goals can keep you moving forward, and why mental rehearsal is one of the most powerful tools for improving both your horsemanship and your mindset. Whether you're working toward success in the show pen, building a business, or simply becoming the horseman you aspire to be, this episode will help you create goals with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose. www.mirandaallyn.net Disclaimer: The information in this podcast is for educational and inspirational purposes only. What if confidence isn't something you wait for—but something you choose? In this episode of Horsemanship, Growth, and Gratitude, Miranda shares a powerful mindset exercise she recently taught at a 4-H rider mindset presentation: creating your Horse Show Avatar. GET YOUR AVATAR WORKSHEET HERE This isn't about pretending to be someone else—it's about intentionally stepping into the version of yourself that's calm, confident, and authentic when it matters most. Miranda shares a personal story from her college rodeo days, explains how your brain looks for evidence to support your beliefs, and walks you through a simple worksheet to help you identify who you want to become in and out of the arena. Whether you're preparing for the show pen, teaching a clinic, or simply working to become a more confident rider, this episode will help you stop waiting to feel ready and start showing up with purpose. www.mirandaallyn.net Disclaimer: The information in this podcast is for educational and inspirational purposes only. In this episode, Miranda shares a behind-the-scenes look at a recent 4-H horsemanship clinic where one simple reminder shaped the entire evening: Ride the horse you have today—not the horse you wish you had. Originally planning to help riders improve horsemanship patterns, Miranda quickly realized that one young rider and her nervous mare needed something entirely different. Instead of forcing the lesson plan, they focused on building confidence, creating forward movement, and helping the horse feel safe. Along the way, Miranda also shares two of her favorite exercises for improving transitions, teaching horses to rate off your body, and helping riders stop micromanaging so their horses can become more willing partners. GET YOUR COPY OF THE EXERCISES HERE Whether you compete in barrel racing, ranch riding, reining, trail, or simply want a better relationship with your horse, this episode is a reminder that real progress starts by meeting your horse where they are today. www.mirandaallyn.net Disclaimer: The information in this podcast is for educational and inspirational purposes only. Strengthen Your Horsemanship Intuition Through Personal Growth
Jul 18, 20269 min
Have you ever wondered why some horsemen seem to know exactly what to do, while others constantly second-guess themselves? In this episode of Horsemanship, Growth, and Gratitude , Miranda explores the powerful connection between personal growth, self-trust, and horsemanship intuition . Discover why intuition isn't something you're born with—it's something you build through experience, emotional resilience, and personal development. Miranda also shares an eye-opening concept about lagging indicators and how it applies to horse training. Just because you don't see the finished results today doesn't mean you're not making progress. Whether you're struggling with rider confidence, overthinking your training sessions, or simply want to become a more thoughtful and intuitive horseman, this episode will encourage you to stop chasing immediate results and start building the self-trust that great horsemanship is built upon. www.mirandaallyn.net Disclaimer: The information in this podcast is for educational and inspirational purposes only.
