  67: Autumn Awakening - Goddess Persephone and the Wild Woman

  We've been taught to fear ageing. But what if embracing nature's cycles is how we finally come into our power? What if your autumn years aren't something to resist, but a season of life to celebrate? Two unexpected encounters with the story of the Greek goddess Persephone led me down a path I hadn't anticipated. Her journey into the Underworld, her return with the seasons and her transformation into a queen got me thinking about our own relationship with autumn, ageing and the Wild Woman within us. We live in a world that celebrates youth, productivity and being constantly on the go. But nature doesn't bloom all year round. As the days grow shorter and the earth begins to retreat, perhaps there's something we can learn from allowing ourselves to do the same. In this episode, we explore what it means to embrace the autumn season of our lives, particularly as we navigate our forties, perimenopause and beyond. From changing needs and a renewed desire for creativity to deeper self-discovery, reflection and inner work, there's so much to discover when we begin honouring our natural rhythms. We'll also explore the feminine archetypes, our changing relationship with productivity and the freedom that comes from becoming more discerning about where we spend our time and energy. There's power in knowing when to bloom, when to retreat and when to turn your attention towards the woman you're becoming. Perhaps it's time we stopped treating autumn as the beginning of the end and started recognising the beauty and power of this season, both in nature and within ourselves.   Still pushing, planning or trying to control how something unfolds? This week’s oracle guidance asks what might happen if you loosen your grip. There comes a point where more thinking, more planning, more doing and more trying to control the outcome doesn’t move us forward. Sometimes the next step is surrender. This week’s card reminds us that the Universe is our partner. Whatever name you give to Source, Spirit, God, the Divine or something else entirely, there is something deeply powerful in developing a relationship with a higher power that feels supportive, benevolent and safe. Because when we truly feel held, we can begin to soften. We can loosen our grip. We can stop trying to orchestrate every detail. And we can rest. We’ve also just crossed the Autumn Equinox, making this message feel especially timely. Nature is beginning its inward turn, and perhaps we’re being invited to do the same. Not by suddenly stopping everything. But by gently asking: What can I put down now? Where am I still pushing when I’ve already done enough? What would genuinely nourish me this week? Your invitation is to make some intentional space for rest, grounding and reconnection. To remember that surrender isn’t giving up.   66: Why You’d Rather Do It All Yourself

  When self-reliance stops being strength and starts becoming protection. There’s a particular kind of safety in doing everything yourself. You know what you’re responsible for. You know what you can rely on. And if something goes wrong, there’s only one person to answer to. But what if that fierce independence isn’t always a preference? What if sometimes it’s protection? In this episode, I’m exploring my own relationship with hyper-independence, control and collaboration, and why letting other people into our ideas, work and lives can feel far more vulnerable than we realise. We talk about the fear of being disappointed or let down, the discomfort of receiving help, scarcity and comparison, and those people who trigger something in us because they may be reflecting back a part of ourselves we haven’t fully claimed yet. I also share how collaboration, particularly with other women, has become one of the most healing and expansive parts of my own journey, and why I no longer want to create everything alone. This isn’t about forcing yourself into partnerships that don’t feel right. It’s an invitation to look a little more closely the next time your instinct is, I’d rather just do it myself. Is that genuinely what you want? Or is something in you trying to stay safe?
