Building Without Burning Out Again | How I Rebuilt My Life & Business at the Same Time
Aug 12, 202630 minS4
Have you ever prayed for a new beginning, only to realize you were about to repeat the same exhausting patterns in a different place? That's where I found myself after leaving my 18-year career in education to become a full-time founder. I thought the biggest challenge would be building a business. Instead, the real challenge was learning how to build one without sacrificing myself in the process. In this episode of Healing, Hustle & Home™ , I'm sharing what those first weeks of entrepreneurship really looked like, the old habits I almost carried into my new life, and the systems that helped me rebuild differently. In this episode: • Why leaving a job doesn't automatically erase old patterns • The difference between being busy and making progress • How I learned to stop switching between every responsibility • Why systems should protect you—not control you • What "Building Without Burning Out Again" really means One sentence from this episode says it all: "Building is allowed to look different this time." Join The Becoming House https://www.skool.com/the-becoming-house-7139 What if the hardest part of starting over isn't building something new—but refusing to repeat what exhausted you the first time? I listened back to one of my own podcast episodes—and realized I needed the message just as much as anyone else. Because sometimes the truth is not that we need a better planner, more discipline, or another productivity strategy. Sometimes the truth is that we are overwhelmed because we keep pretending we can do everything. In this episode of Healing, Hustle & Home , I’m sharing what happened when listening to my own words, scrolling through my Facebook timeline, and looking beneath the surface of the lives around me forced me to get honest about my own. From the outside, people may see the projects, progress, smiles, celebrations, and responsibilities we continue to handle. But underneath those layers, many of us are tired. Avoiding something. Carrying more than we have admitted. Trying to prove we can keep up with a life that was never meant to be completed like a checklist. This conversation is about the quiet kind of avoidance that can look productive on the outside—and the freedom that begins when we stop performing “fine” and tell ourselves the truth. ✨ You’ll learn: • Why overwhelm can lead to avoidance instead of action• How “productive” tasks can distract us from what is actually weighing on us• Why your unfinished list does not mean your entire life is falling apart• What happens when you create expectations that no real version of you can meet• Why honesty may be more helpful than another plan• How telling yourself the truth can become the first step toward healing You may not finish everything this week. Every good idea may not belong in this season. Some things may need to wait. And admitting that does not mean you are giving up. It means you are finally building from the truth instead of exhausting yourself trying to maintain an impossible expectation. So here is the question I want you to sit with: What have you been pretending instead of telling yourself the truth? Because the truth you have been avoiding may be the very place your healing begins. If this episode encouraged you, share it with someone who may need permission to stop pretending too. Because nobody should have to figure this out alone. I Almost Quit on Myself This Year- A Real Story About Almost Walking Away
Jul 29, 202632 minS4
Have you ever reached a point where you wondered if you should just stop trying? Not because you stopped believing in your dream. Not because you suddenly weren't capable. But because you were simply tired. The kind of tired that comes from carrying uncertainty for too long. In this deeply personal episode of Healing, Hustle & Home , Ashley Springs shares the story of a season when she almost quit on herself after stepping away from an 18-year career in education and into the unknown of full-time entrepreneurship. This isn't a story about having all the answers. It's a conversation about what happens in the middle—the space between leaving what was familiar and becoming who you're called to be. Together, we'll explore: • Why the "middle" of any transition often feels lonelier than the decision itself • How fear quietly rewrites our story and makes us question what we already know about ourselves • The difference between wanting to quit your dream and wanting to escape the discomfort that comes with pursuing it • Why uncertainty doesn't automatically mean you're on the wrong path If you've ever questioned your purpose, doubted yourself after making a difficult decision, or wondered if all your hard work is leading anywhere, this episode is for you. Reflection Ask yourself: Where have I been confusing uncertainty with failure? Maybe you're not failing. Maybe you're becoming. Your Next Step If this conversation encouraged you, share it with someone who's quietly walking through their own season of uncertainty. And if you haven't already, follow Healing, Hustle & Home so you don't miss future conversations about becoming the woman, building the work, and stewarding every room you've been entrusted with. Because nobody should have to figure it out alone. One woman. Two rooms. One life. The Burnout No One Names- What Overwhelm Looks Like When You’re the One Leading the Room
Jul 22, 202626 minS4
What happens when you are the person everyone expects to stay calm, make the decision, solve the problem, and keep the room moving? Leadership burnout does not always look like falling apart. Sometimes it looks like functioning well while feeling disconnected from everything you are doing. You still attend the meetings. You still answer the questions. You still support the team. But internally, every request feels heavier, your patience feels shorter, and walking away starts to feel easier than trying to change what is not working. In this episode of Healing, Hustle & Home , Ashley Springs explores the kind of burnout that often hides behind competence. You’ll learn how leadership exhaustion can show up through: • Feeling irritated by reasonable requests • Being physically present but emotionally unavailable • Fantasizing about escape instead of identifying what needs to change • Carrying responsibilities that should not depend on you alone Ashley also introduces the Leadership Load Check , a simple three-question practice: What am I carrying? What belongs to me? What needs to move? Because sometimes burnout is not a sign that you need to become stronger. Sometimes it is data showing you that the way the work is structured cannot continue. You may need rest. You may also need clearer expectations, shared responsibility, stronger systems, and permission to stop carrying what was never yours alone. Reflection Ask yourself: What am I carrying right now that should not depend on me alone? Choose one responsibility, conversation, decision, or system that needs to move this week. Your Next Step Take the free School Leadership Reality Check to step back, examine your current systems, and identify where greater clarity, shared responsibility, or stronger implementation may be needed. The link is in the show notes. You do not need another reminder to work harder. You need a clearer picture of what the room is asking from you—and what it should no longer require you to carry alone. One woman. Two rooms. One life.
Rest Isn’t a Reward-Permission to Reset Without Guilt
Jul 15, 202644 minS4
Why is it that the moment you finally sit down, your mind starts listing everything you should be doing instead? For so many women, rest doesn't actually feel restful. It feels guilty. Like something that has to be earned after the work is finished, the house is handled, the children are settled, and everyone else is okay. But when you're the person everyone leans on, the work is never completely finished. In this episode of Healing, Hustle & Home , Ashley Springs explores where the belief that rest must be earned comes from—and what it costs when we keep pushing past our own needs. This isn't a conversation about luxury self-care or escaping your responsibilities. It's about learning to pause before your body, emotions, or relationships force you to. You'll also learn the Ten-Minute Room Reset , a simple three-step practice you can use between meetings, workdays, family responsibilities, or anytime you need to transition from one room to the next. In This Episode You'll learn: Why so many capable women feel guilty when they stop Where the belief that rest must be earned often begins The difference between physical, mental, emotional, and decision fatigue The Ten-Minute Room Reset : Close the Room Check the Woman Choose the Return Why rest isn't something you earn—it's something that helps you continue leading well Reflection As you listen, think about this question: What usually stops you from resting—the amount of work, or the guilt you feel when you stop? Those aren't always the same problem. Your Next Step If this conversation resonates with you, continue the journey inside The Becoming House . The Reset Room is designed for women who want practical tools, honest reflection, and a supportive community as they learn to care for themselves while leading the lives they've been entrusted with. Because you don't have to earn the rest that helps you remain well. One woman. Two rooms. One life.
