From the Heart with Rachel Brathen
Play Is A Basic Human Need
Happy September! Fall has officially arrived in the north of Sweden where Rachel lives. The seasons change quickly here, and Rachel is already finding herself in darker days, wearing heavier clothes (and having wild animal encounters outside!). Things in nature may be slowing down, but are you? In this episode, Rachel shares how important it is to set a fall intention: something to serve as a guiding light, to align you with nature, and help you find a purposeful daily rhythm. For her, that intention is to sit at the pottery wheel each and every day. Does play feel frivolous to you? Usually, when we have free time from our children, we do the things we are “supposed” to do. But what if play is actually a basic human need? Do you have your own version of pottery? And can you make more time for something in your life that is just for you? This episode will help you see why it’s one of the most important things you can do.
