Azerbaijan GP Review: George Russell’s Perfect Weekend
Baku gave us a classic Azerbaijan Grand Prix — not much happening, then absolute chaos, then one of the closest finishes we’ve seen in years. And through all of it, George Russell was basically untouchable. This episode includes: • George Russell’s first career Grand Slam and what David called his best-ever F1 weekend • Kimi Antonelli crashing in qualifying, starting 16th and recovering to fifth to limit the championship damage • Franco Colapinto wiping out Lando Norris and Pierre Gasly, plus why Lando’s “some drivers shouldn’t be in F1” comments didn’t sit right with us • Oscar Piastri throwing away a potential podium at the final restart and McLaren leaving Baku with zero points • Red Bull putting Max ahead of Isack Hadjar, then refusing to swap them back even when Hadjar looked quicker • Williams finally bringing a proper upgrade package, Carlos reaching Q3, Alex finding the wall, and Ferrari somehow looking even worse George closes the championship gap to Kimi, Williams might finally have remembered how to build an F1 car, and Aston Martin earn Fool of the Week after yet another double DNF. Next stop: the “Bahrain Grand Prix”… in Malaysia. Follow us for more: Instagram , TikTok , YouTube , and Facebook (search Formula Fools ).
