Feck It, No More
Is This Burnout or a Breakdown? | Part 1
Brandy built the thing a lot of people dream about, her own food business, doing what she loves. Three years later she is running it alone, has not had a real day off in years, and recently ended up scream-crying on the kitchen floor while customers waited at the window. This one is different: you are in the room for a real coaching session while she is still in the thick of it. Brandy is 32 and has cooked professionally for over a decade. On paper the food truck is a success, but she does almost all of it herself, and somewhere along the way the passion turned into dread. The breaking point came on what was meant to be a day off: an SOS call pulled her back to the cart, and she found herself on the floor washing pans in tears while the orders piled up. Walking away is not simple. Her business partner remortgaged his home to build the truck, and Brandy feels a real obligation to see the loan through first. So Glenn helps her stop surviving day to day long enough to actually look forward. In this conversation: ◼ Building a dream food business, and coming to hate the life it created ◼ No real day off in years, a second job, and prep days that run 8 to 9 hours ◼ "I get up to be a slave to my job", burnout from the inside ◼ The night it broke: scream-crying on the floor while customers waited ◼ Why she cannot just quit, the loan and the partner she will not let down ◼ Glenn's 80-year-old-on-the-porch exercise for picturing your future ◼ The dyslexia Brandy and Glenn share, and the not clever stories they told themselves ◼ The reframing tool Glenn calls the most important thing he learned in 20 years By the end you will watch someone go from I cannot even think about the future to seeing a way out, and leave with the two tools Glenn gave her: how to picture the life you want, and how to reframe the days that feel impossible.
