WHAT DID THEY JUST PREACH?! Otha Turnbough & Jamal Bryant EXAMINED
WHEN PREACHING CROSSES THE LINE — ARE WE STILL TESTING EVERYTHING BY SCRIPTURE? In this episode of Endtime Shofar, we examine controversial teachings from Pastor Otha Turnbough and Pastor Jamal Bryant and ask one important question: DO THESE TEACHINGS ALIGN WITH THE BIBLE? From Otha Turnbough’s controversial statements about what Jesus allegedly endured in hell to Jamal Bryant’s teaching involving “Abracadabra,” speaking things into existence, and his interpretation of the woman with the issue of blood, we're putting these claims under the microscope of Scripture. PASTOR OTHA TURNBOUGH We examine the claims surrounding Jesus' suffering, His descent into hell, and what Scripture actually teaches about Christ's atoning work. Greek Translation (Hades): When the Hebrew Old Testament was translated into Greek (the Septuagint), Sheol was almost universally translated as Hades, carrying a very similar semantic range of "the realm of the dead." Contrast with Gehenna: By the intertestamental period and into the New Testament era, Jewish and Christian eschatology began to differentiate between the general holding place of the dead (Sheol/Hades) and the place of final judgment and punishment (Gehenna or the Lake of Fire). PASTOR JAMAL BRYANT We examine the meaning of “Abracadabra,” the idea that human beings can speak things into existence, and the controversial interpretation of the woman who reached out and touched Jesus. THE STANDARD IS SCRIPTURE. We're going back to the Bible and asking: • What does Scripture actually teach about the death and resurrection of Jesus? • Did Jesus need to suffer additional torment in hell to pay for our sins? • Can human beings speak things into existence in the same way God creates? • Is “Abracadabra” connected to biblical faith? • What does Mark 5 actually say about the woman with the issue of blood? • When should Christians identify a teaching as biblical error or heresy? • Are Christians testing what they hear from the pulpit? This isn't about personality, popularity, or church size. It's about biblical truth. The Bible commands believers: “Test all things; hold fast what is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21 If a preacher says it, we test it. If a teaching is popular, we test it. If a doctrine sounds spiritual, we test it. Don't take my word for it. Bring your Bible and examine the evidence for yourself.
