Bring Back the 90's: Did We Have More Fun Without Technology?
Welcome back, WIFs. For this mini cozy of Bring Back the 90s , Lauren and Michelle are talking about something they never thought would become trendy again: going analog. Inspired by a Today Show segment about Gen Z embracing a more analog lifestyle, the sisters dive into what it actually meant to live without smartphones, social media, and everything being instantly documented. Film cameras, printed photos, journals, cash, phone calls, prank calls, sleepovers, crafting, and just figuring things out without immediately looking it up. They reminisce about dropping off a roll of film at Walgreens and waiting to see how the pictures turned out, making photo albums, calling friends on the phone, using Star 69, paying with cash, traveling with phone cards, and even keeping a travel junk journal filled with receipts and little things collected along the way. Maybe Gen Z isn't actually trying to become 90s kids. Maybe they're just realizing that there is something pretty great about being bored, making things with your hands, talking to people, and having experiences that aren’t immediately posted online. Press play, get cozy, and take a little trip back to a time when life was a whole lot more analog—and a lot more fun. And if you have your own niche 80s or 90s memory, prank call story, or old-school tradition, the sisters want to hear it. As always, stay cozy.
