Episode #125
Venancio Aragon and Chiara Giovando
Venancio Aragon and Chiara Giovando join host Matthew Chase-Daniel at ICA Santa Fe to talk about Woven Futures, Unbound Patterns: Contemporary Diné Weaving, an exhibition happening there, created by Aragon. They discus the wide variety of forms in Diné (Navajo) weaving, the resurgence of old forms that have existed but been less seen by market-driven collectors and promoters in the past 150 years. Aragon dedicates himself to creating contemporary work, engaging deep traditions, teaching, and educating us about the histories and cultures of this art form.
