CALM BEFORE THE STORM \ Clemson Tigers LIVE 215 \ ALL IN SHOW 195
CALM BEFORE THE STORM Clemson Tigers LIVE 215 / ALL IN SHOW 195 Hosts: Jordan Bowman & Edward “Tiger Paw” Craven (TPC) ClemsonVOCFB Live show with early audio/mic issues, TPC arriving late after a game. Recap of Clemson’s 24-10 win over Cal, injuries, Dabo’s Miami presser, Death Valley preview vs. No. 4 Miami (Clemson +16.5 at home), keys, score predictions, plus Dante Moore, Dylan Stewart, and wrap. Open / Technical delays (~00:04–00:09) Jordan starts alone after audio input problems. Thanks viewers for patience. TPC (Tiger Paul Craven) delayed 10–15 minutes. Shoutouts to chat (John, Air Mike, Isaac, Ridge, Chase). Plug likes, subs, Super Chats, channel memberships (watch-alongs + comment priority). Big matchup: Clemson vs. Miami in Death Valley. Weather will be a factor. Cal recap: 24-10 win (~00:09–00:21) Not pretty, but Clemson found things that work. 3-1 after LSU and Georgia Southern questions. Offense More functional run game: 255 rushing yards. OL had one of its better days (push, vertical displacement). Gideon Davidson continues to play well after UNC. Passing game and Tate Reynolds not a banner day. True freshman QB still limited by decision-making and inexperience (didn’t play senior year of HS). Plays are there; execution isn’t. Offense capped against better teams. 17 offensive points. “This is by no means a good offense.” Staff rolling with punches. Growth not linear — Tate “pretty pedestrian” / regressed after UNC. Defense Creative DL personnel with thin DT room (Devarik Woods out). Darion Mayo slid inside, more Champ Thompson and Cadence Story. Mixed groupings to get snaps. Pressure on JKS; he never got comfortable. Edge pressure strong (Wilhelm, London Merritt as game-wrecker — more snaps). Secondary the strength: Ashton Hampton, Elliot Washington (2 INTs), Ronan Hanafin one of his best games, Donovan Starr more work without Corian Gibson. Few busts even vs. LSU. Multiple batted balls, PBUs, turnovers. Only 3 points allowed. Need consistent front-four pressure. Special teams Unsung hero. Nolan Hauser finally missed one. Brian Wesco punt-return TD (first in a while). Rick Passaccia’s unit: excellent punt coverage, no explosives. Jordan eats crow on questioning Wesco’s return role after injury — “one of the differences in the game.” Two phases rounding into form; offense still the limiter. Hard to see this group scoring enough vs. powerful offenses. Saturday vs. Miami will require Reynolds’ best game. Injuries (~00:22–00:25) Elijah Thurman (OL, experienced) — not long-term, but not ideal. Gavin Blanchard solid in relief. More Grant Wise, Easton Ware. Building OL depth under Matt Luke. David Ezio-Mume carted off — looks season-ending. Hoping Devarik Woods (DT) returns; room already thin. Corian Gibson (nickel starter) — secondary playing well without him. Courtney Kelly (DT, spring ACL) getting close; huge boost if available later, unlikely Saturday. Dabo: many “day-to-day.” Tough to project this far out. Dabo presser / staff mindset (~00:25–00:34) Dabo complimentary as always but more conviction than usual: Miami is the toughest matchup of the year (better than LSU). Staff understands they must play their best football of the season by a significant margin just to compete. Clemson a 16.5-point home underdog — last time that happened in Death Valley? Neither host can remember one in the Dabo era (maybe Tommy West days). TPC: Honest, not coaching-speak. Fast start required. First-half Cal mishaps/turnovers/procedural issues vs. this Miami team = down 28 before the first quarter ends. Night game, Chris Fowler/Kirk Herbstreit, raucous Valley. Challenge is keeping fans in it after slow starts this year. Jordan: Wish the game was later so the team could build more. Opportunity to change the narrative, but not sure they’re ready. If they get blown out, “this team hasn’t gotten any better” narrative will be loud even if incremental progress exists. Attitude in the building matters — this is only game 5. Miami preview (~00:39–01:24) Miami 4-0, top-5, video-game statistical profile. Darian Mensah ~88% completion, 1,200+ yards, 14 TDs, 0 INTs. Malachi Toney (true soph) already 500+ yards, 6 TDs — 1B to Jeremiah Smith’s 1A. Still have Cooper Barkley and other weapons. Shannon Dawson OC. Best team Clemson has played. Clemson offense averaging just over 21 ppg (near bottom nationally). Miami averaging 40+. Polar opposites. Line 47.5 total — weather + respect for Clemson secondary. Path for Clemson: control clock, limit Miami to 8–10 possessions, run the ball, special-teams spark (another Wesco return?), win turnover margin (Clemson hasn’t done it yet; Miami rarely turns it over). Cannot hang the defense out repeatedly. Tate cannot do too much — play within Chad Morris’ confines, use legs. Defense is legit and the best Miami has faced. Tom Allen maximizing players. Secondary (Hampton as leader) can challenge Miami. Fast start + Death Valley juice can keep it close through a half. 16.5 is a lot of points. Keys to the game (TPC emphasis) Run the ball effectively. Limit Miami possessions (8–10). Special-teams spark. Win turnover margin. Bend-don’t-break defense, force field goals. Stay in it into the fourth. Cannot shoot out. Weather could help Clemson if it becomes a defensive/grind game, but also makes an already-anemic passing attack harder. Score predictions (~01:25–01:39) Jordan: Miami 24, Clemson 14. Defense gets stops; offense won’t muster enough. Competitive, not embarrassed — but that is possible. Hard to look past passing struggles. TPC: Miami 27, Clemson 17. Doesn’t see Miami covering 16.5. Weather + secondary + fight in this team (polar opposite of last year’s quitters). Leaders like Sammy Brown and Ashton Hampton. Valley will be rocking. 16.5 too many; they’d rather play the total. Unwritten rule: they don’t bet Clemson games. Both on the “optimistic loss” side. A competitive 3-2 heading into the bye is what most expected. A Week 1 LSU-style showing at home cannot happen — that would make the three-game win streak look like fool’s gold. Chat predictions encouraged. FanDuel plug. Other topics / chat (~01:40–end) Dante Moore (Oregon/USC hit): Both think one-game suspension too light (minimum three). Bad hit, could have pulled up. Celebration/smiling/dapping while player on spine board for 8+ minutes is disgusting. University-written apology. Lincoln Riley’s postgame comments made it worse; reporters at least asked hard questions. “Lincoln Riley’s a doofus.” Dylan Stewart (South Carolina): Indefinite suspension after punch + repeated sideline walk-offs from Beamer and assistants. Body language, public defiance. Gamecock friends say it wasn’t isolated. Hate-losing is fine; lack of control isn’t. Beamer never held him accountable because he’s Dylan Stewart — now it’s national TV. If Beamer brings him back he has no locker-room authority. Draft stock hit (still a freak, but costing money). Beamer: decision is “up to me.” Protect College Sports Act: Passed Senate. House in recess; no vote before elections. Don’t get excited yet — government gonna government. Braves mention, Pick’em Challenge: 8-11 last week, tied for 3rd. Another Pick’em show later in the week (likely Thursday). Community tab for time. Channel members shoutouts (John, Air Mike, etc.). Memberships again. Sign-off ~10:30 p.m. after late start. Postgame Saturday (another late one). “Go Tigers.” Jordan Bowman & Tiger Paul Craven. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
