Lucas and Luna drill into the reality of building a company without a dime of outside capital. Each episode takes a single bootstrapped business — a solo founder, a two-person partnership, a micro-SaaS that grew to seven figures without a term sheet — and traces the actual arithmetic: how much revenue they needed to replace a salary, the moment they hired their first employee from cash flow, the pricing experiments that didn't work. Lucas brings the numbers — churn rates, customer acquisition costs, unit economics — while Luna pushes on the human trade-offs: the loneliness of being the only decision-maker, the temptation to take money when a competitor raises, the gut-check of turning down a customer who doesn't fit the product. They never pretend bootstrapping is morally superior; they just ask whether the freedom of owning 100% of a small, profitable company is worth the slower growth. Every episode is built around a real case — from Basecamp to Mailchimp's early days to current indi

How Bootstrapped Firms Survive the Zero-Growth Trap
Sep 6, 202610 minS4
Lucas and Luna examine why most bootstrapped businesses stall at eight figures. They explore the specific operational friction that prevents profitable companies from scaling further, using a case study of a niche logistics firm that hit a revenue ceiling despite healthy margins. The conversation focuses on the hidden costs of maintaining control versus hiring for growth, and the precise moment founders must decide whether to dilute their vision or accept slower expansion. This episode offers a concrete framework for evaluating when to stop optimizing for profit and start investing in capacity. #Bootstrapping #BusinessGrowth #LeanOperations #FounderStrategy #ProfitFirst #ScalingChallenges #OperationalFriction #RevenueCeiling #HiringDecisions #CashFlowManagement #SmallBusinessTips #Entrepreneurship #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #StartupLessons #CorporateStrategy #ManagementDilemmas #GrowthPain Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Most bootstrapped founders obsess over revenue growth, but the real killer is working capital drag. We examine how a specific mid-sized software provider nearly collapsed not from lack of sales, but from the mismatch between when clients paid and when payroll hit. This episode breaks down the mechanics of cash conversion cycles, why 'profit' on paper doesn't pay rent, and three structural fixes—like milestone billing and inventory financing—that keep lean businesses solvent during slow quarters. #BootstrappedBusiness #CashFlowManagement #WorkingCapital #LeanOperations #StartupFinance #ProfitFirst #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #FinancialHealth #SmallBizTips #RevenueGrowth #BusinessStrategy #FounderStories #CashConversionCycle #MilestoneBilling #OperationalEfficiency #LucasAndLuna #Bootstrapping Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Most bootstrapped founders treat debt like a dirty word, but what if borrowing was the fastest path to independence? We examine how a specific SaaS company used strategic debt rather than equity to fund its expansion, keeping full ownership while hitting ten million in annual recurring revenue. This episode explores the mechanics of non-dilutive capital and why cash flow management matters more than top-line growth for self-funded teams. #Bootstrapping #DebtFinancing #SaaSGrowth #NoEquity #CashFlowManagement #SmallBusinessLoans #RevenueBasedFinancing #FounderIndependence #LeanOperations #ProfitFirst #BusinessStrategy #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #LucasAndLuna #SelfFunded #FinancialDiscipline #GrowthHacking #OwnerOperator Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Most bootstrapped founders hit a wall at five million in revenue. Why? Because their growth engine was built for ten thousand customers, not fifty thousand. We look at how one SaaS company’s operational debt nearly broke them, and the specific three-step audit they used to fix their unit economics without raising a dime. This is about the invisible tax on self-funded growth. #Bootstrapping #SaaSGrowth #UnitEconomics #OperationalDebt #LeanStartup #RevenueScaling #CustomerSuccess #BusinessPodcast #FexingoBusiness #ProfitFirst #FounderStories #SmallBusinessTips #CashFlowManagement #StartupStrategy #GrowthHacking #LucasAndLuna #BusinessJournalism #SelfFunded Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How Bootstrapped Startups Survive Their First Crisis
Sep 2, 202610 minS4
Most founders think bootstrapping is about growth speed. It isn't. It is about survival. In this episode, Lucas and Luna examine the specific moment a lean startup faces its first major revenue cliff without venture capital to bail them out. We look at how two different companies handled a sudden thirty percent drop in recurring revenue using opposite strategies. One cut staff immediately while the other froze hiring and restructured pricing. The results show why cash flow discipline matters more than top-line growth when you have no safety net. Every question we get asked before someone starts their trial.
If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
