About this podcast

Welcome to the black girl happy book club podcast. This podcast is all about me, reading as many books as I can. I used to read a lot as a young girl and a teenager, and a little bit in college, although most of the books I read in college were for a class. I read here and there over the last 20+ years, but after the pandemic and after the popularity of audiobooks, I challenged myself to join as many books clubs as I could and to read as much as I could. And I know, some people poo-poo audiobooks, but having the option to read an audiobook versus a physical book has changed my life and it allows me to multitask, be it driving to work, cleaning, working on a project, etc. I have read more over the last five years than I ever would have if I had only been reading physical books. And I still enjoy cookbooks and poetry in the physical book form but most of my reading nowadays is definitely through audiobooks. I also read an eclectic combination of books which include the Thrillers and Mysteries I read for the Pins and Needles book club I'm in at the local library, the current popular fiction books by African American authors that I read in the B2B + S2S book club I'm in, also at the local library, the historical fiction books with an African American theme that I read as a member of the Bookish Ladies Zoom book club, as well as the writing craft books I read as a part of the See Jane Write Collective, and the productivity and creativity books I read as a member of the My Simple Scrapper community, not to mention the books I try to read focused on health. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my book reviews. And please share with a friend.
