God the Deliverer — Living as People God Has Delivered
Awakened to Deliver — The Strength and Reign of God Week 38 — God the Deliverer Day 5 – Living as People God Has Delivered ⸻ Episode Highlights • Biblical deliverance is not only about what God has set us free from. Through Jesus Christ, we have been redeemed to belong to Him and live as His people. • The grace that saves also instructs. God’s grace teaches believers to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, righteous, and godly lives in the present age. • Obedience does not earn salvation, and holiness is not the price of redemption. Jesus paid the price, and a changed life is the fruit of belonging to Him. • Christian freedom sometimes means saying no—to sinful desires, temptations, and patterns that once ruled us—because we no longer belong to our former master. • Believers live between grace that has appeared and glory that will appear. We look back to Christ’s saving work and forward to His return, allowing that hope to shape how we live today. • Jesus gave Himself to redeem and purify a people for His own possession. Our lives, bodies, relationships, decisions, and desires now come under the lordship of Christ. • God’s people have been called out of darkness and into His marvelous light so that our lives proclaim His excellence through holiness, obedience, service, and good works. ⸻ Scriptures to Reflect On • Titus 2:11–14 — God’s grace brings salvation, teaches His people how to live, and reveals that Christ gave Himself to redeem a people for His own possession. • 1 Peter 2:9 — God’s people have been called out of darkness into His marvelous light so that they may proclaim His excellence. • Romans 6:12–14 — Those who belong to Christ are called not to allow sin to reign but to present themselves to God. • 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 — Believers belong to God because they have been bought with a price and are called to glorify Him with their bodies. • Ephesians 2:8–10 — Salvation is by grace through faith, not by works, yet believers are created in Christ Jesus for good works. • Philippians 3:20–21 — Believers belong to a heavenly kingdom and eagerly await the return of Jesus Christ. ⸻ Takeaway Thought God has not merely delivered us from bondage. Through Jesus Christ, He has redeemed us to belong to Him. The grace that saves us continues teaching us to turn from sin, pursue holiness, serve faithfully, and live in this present age with our eyes fixed upon the return of Christ. Good works do not purchase our redemption—they flow from lives that have been transformed by grace. So do not only ask what God has delivered you from. Remember what He has delivered you for: to belong to Jesus Christ, walk in His truth, proclaim His excellence, and live faithfully for His glory. ⸻ Stay Connected Grab a free digital copy of 30 Days of Patience and explore more resources in the Linktree below.
