National Security Beyond AI Technology Endangered Is Our Food With The CIA's Steve Hirsch
Steve Hirsch, a recently retired senior CIA executive with three decades of experience across the U.S. intelligence community, who is available as a source on national security, intelligence, AI, critical infrastructure, biosecurity, and emerging global threats. Steve Hirsch is available for interviews immediately.During his CIA career, Hirsch served in senior leadership positions spanning counterterrorism, intelligence analysis, public affairs, workforce and organizational transformation, and the Agency’s business analytics modernization. Following 9/11, he served as a President’s Daily Briefer, briefing Cabinet-level officials as the intelligence community adapted to a dramatically different threat environment. He briefed the Secretaries of Homeland Security, Agriculture, and Health and Human Services, as well as the FEMA Administrator. He also led CIA Public Affairs and the Agency’s business analytics transformation. He also served in senior counterterrorism and Middle East crisis roles and, earlier in his career, analyzed chemical and biological weapons, including the countries and facilities developing them. What makes Steve particularly useful as a source is his ability to explain how the intelligence community assesses threats and makes decisions, while staying firmly outside classified information. Steve is comfortable speaking on the record or on background while respecting the clear boundaries around classified information. Would you be interested in speaking with Steve for a story you are currently working on, talking with him on background, or simply connecting now to establish a relationship for future stories?Later, as a senior CIA executive, Hirsch led major initiatives involving public affairs, business analytics, workforce development, and organizational transformation, giving him a perspective that extends beyond identifying threats to understanding how large institutions prepare for and respond to them.
