Why Is Inflation Rising Again? Energy, Mortgages & Food Prices Explained
Inflation is rising again, but should we really be surprised when so many household costs are increasing in the financial climate? In this episode of Apnin News, I look at some economic news and the factors affecting the cost of living, including energy prices, mortgage rates, food costs, house prices and wages. I also talk about my own experience of seeing my dual-fuel energy tariff rise from around £180 a month to £226.65, and ask whether rising household costs inevitably feed into higher inflation. I'm not an economist—this is a personal, common-sense discussion about what I'm seeing and experiencing and the questions I think governments need to answer. What do you think Andy Burnham and the government should do to tackle rising inflation and the cost of living? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. This video represents personal commentary and is not financial or economic advice.
