September 6 | Cities
Pastor Laura Katherine Stern - In Luke's Gospel, the city of Jerusalem plays a prominent role. The Gospel writer chooses to begin and end the narrative in Jerusalem. After feeding the multitude, Jesus "sets his face toward Jerusalem." It is over the fate of Jerusalem that Jesus weeps. And while Jerusalem is the primary city named in Luke's Gospel, other cities like Nazarath, Bethlehem, and Capernaum, are named as well. Join us as we consider the role of the city in the Bible, in Luke's Gospel in particular, and how urban settings shape our faith.
