Equipment Spotlight: What Bulk Transit Runs and Why
Sep 30, 20261h 4m
Every truck on a Bulk and Spur Transit lot was chosen for a reason, and every trailer spec was debated before it was signed off on. In Episode 34 of Always Pneumatic, Never Static, host Marcus sits down with Brad DeWolf, Owner and Maintenance Director, and driver Daryl Robbins for a conversation that gets into the nuts and bolts of what Bulk actually runs out there and why those decisions get made the way they do. Truck manufacturers, trailer manufacturers, transmission choices, engine specs, drivetrain configurations, creature comforts that keep drivers on the road longer without burning out, and trailers built for specific pneumatic applications are all on the table. Brad makes the calls. Daryl lives with them every day. Getting both perspectives in the same conversation gives you something most equipment discussions never deliver. The real reasoning behind the spec sheet and the real-world feedback from the seat that has to prove it out every single load. If you drive, maintain, or make decisions about commercial truck equipment, this episode is essential listening. New episodes every Wednesday at podcast.bulktransit.com.
Trucking Up History: The Science of Pneumatic Hauling
Sep 23, 202639 min
Pneumatic hauling did not appear overnight, and the trailer you backed into a loading bay today is the result of more than a century of engineering evolution that most drivers never think about. In Episode 33 of Always Pneumatic, Never Static, host Marcus dives deep into the science and history of pneumatic hauling. Where did the technology come from? How did the pressure and airflow systems that move concrete, cement, fly ash, lime, limestone, quicklime, flour, plastic pellets, and food-grade products evolve into the precision equipment running today? What separates a great pneumatic driver from an average one when it comes to understanding the science behind the haul? This is the most comprehensive history lesson the Trucking Up History series has produced, and it is built specifically for the drivers running this equipment every day. Whether you are six months into your first pneumatic route or fifteen years deep, this episode will change how you think about what is happening inside that trailer. Music on the Road: Building the Ultimate Driver Playlist
Sep 16, 20261h 15m
Every pro driver knows that the right music can make a ten-hour run feel like five, and the wrong playlist can make it feel like twenty. In Episode 32 of Always Pneumatic, Never Static, host Marcus sits down with driver Greg Sigler, driver Walter Anderson, and Rodney Watts, frontman of Rodney Watts and The Soldiers' Pride and Walter's bandmate, for one of the show's most fun conversations. What decade produced the best music? Which bands got so overplayed on the radio that you cannot hear them anymore without reaching for the dial? What belongs on the ultimate driver-created playlist that the whole Bulk and Spur fleet can use on the road? All of it is on the table, and the conversation does not slow down. Before the interview kicks off, President Bryan DeWolf delivers a personal message to every driver in the fleet for Driver Appreciation Week. This one is for every driver with a long haul ahead and a six-inch speaker that deserves better than whatever the radio algorithm is feeding you. New episodes every Wednesday at podcast.bulktransit.com.
Football Special: Picks, Predictions & Rival Trash Talk
Sep 9, 20261h 12m
Football season and truck drivers are a combination that was always going to make for a great episode, and Episode 31 of Always Pneumatic, Never Static does not disappoint. Host Marcus brings drivers Mike Short, Gary Cress, and Jeff Linne together for a football conversation that runs from start to finish with zero agenda and maximum passion. Plant your flag predictions. Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, the CFP National Championship, and everything in between get covered from three very different fan perspectives that do not always agree and are not shy about it. Rival matchups, rule changes each driver would make if they had the power, and the kind of trash talk that only comes out when you put football fans in a room with a live microphone and tell them to go. This is the episode Marcus teased back in Episode 28, and it was worth the wait. If you bleed your team's colors and you have a take you need the world to hear, Episode 31 is your people. New episodes every Wednesday at podcast.bulktransit.com.
Back to School & Labor Day: Safety, Kids & Roads We've Traveled
Sep 2, 20261h 11m
Back-to-school season is one of the most dangerous times of year on American roads, and every pro driver knows it. In Episode 30 of Always Pneumatic, Never Static, host Marcus sits down with drivers Paul Francis and Walter Anderson to discuss what years behind the wheel of a commercial truck have taught them about sharing the road with school buses, unpredictable teen drivers, and children at play in the neighborhoods they roll through every day. Slowing down, keeping your head on a swivel, and building the kind of patience that only comes from experience are all on the table in the first half of this episode. Then, in honor of Labor Day, the conversation takes a genuinely fun turn as Paul and Walter look back at the jobs they had before trucking and pay homage to the work that shaped them before they ever sat behind the wheel of a big truck. Informative, practical, and a little nostalgic all at once. This one is for the drivers, the parents, and everyone who has ever had to work for a living. New episodes every Wednesday at podcast.bulktransit.com.
