Week 3 of American Conference Football is here and wow were there fireworls in week 2. Multiple final minute wins highlighted week 2 and big matchups including some rivalries now take place in week 3. Maria Trivelpiece is joined by CBS College Football Analyst and former Rice Quarterback Taylor McHargue to break down it all down from Studio A. Maria and Taylor are joined by College Football Analyst and former UTSA Defensive Back Darrien Starling who gives his thoughts on the American this season and why he belives anyone can really win the league. They discuss the impression that South Florida and Florida Atlantic left on him after this past week. Along with why he believes Memphis and UTSA are still favorites in the league after solid starts. A last minute TD pass from Michael Van Buren led South Florida to an unexpected win against Army. THey break down what led to South Florida's win and how the Bulls can build on that before the next conference play challenge arrives on their schedule in a few weeks. One team that impressed both Maria and Taylor this week was Florida Atlantic as they got off to a flying start against Navy in the first half. Led by Caden Veltkamp and the offense it showed what FAU is capabale above. They then discuss what they need to do this week when they take on FIU in the Shula Bowl. They also discuss the Roadrunners win in the 1-35 rivalry over Texas State and what they need to do to have success when they take on top-ranked Texas this week in Austin. The defending American champs also go in the win column this week when they defeated South Alabama in the final minute. They also won with their looks and their Mardi Gras City Edition jerseys that were spectacular. They preview the Green Wave matchup at Kansas State where back in 2022 Tulane won in Manhattan. North Texas got a win as well dominating UNLV 44-6. The Mean Green now look a head to an in-state matchup at Texas State. They also talk about the win by UAB over ULM and preview their matchup against Louisiana. They also break down the full schedule and what other games stand out. No one had a better week 2 than Florida Atlantic Quarterback Caden Veltkamp who had the same amuount of touchdown passes as incompletions. After throwing for 386 yards and 5 touchdowns he caught up with Maria to discuss the performance. They also discuss his fmaily-like relationship with Wide Receiver Eason Messer. They also preview this week's game vs FIU and they keys for the Owls winning each week Who Has the Best Atmosphere in the American is the debate of the week and Maria and Taylor discuss why the believe their respective thoughts highlight who has the best. Laslty our social media moment of the week highlights a great NFL debut walk-in from former Navy Defensive Lineman Landon Robinson who showed out in his full dress uniform when arriving to the stadium.
