Does trauma spur creativity? Dallas glass artist Carlyn Ray asks that question about her own life. She tells Alex Perry about losing her sister Harper to brain cancer, growing up dyslexic and feeling most seen when she was making art, and living out of her car to build her glassblowing studio. Shealso talks about meeting Dale Chihuly at twelve, going on to work for him, and what grief taught her about letting herself feel.
