Episode 385: 'Hack-O-Lantern' (1988)
Unless you were alive during the time, it is hard to explain how big of a cultural impact the original Gremlins movie made. There was no way the sequel could live up to the first one and the franchise has gone surprisingly dormant ever since. We do have the latest news on the third installment. We were not fans of the most recent Hell House LLC movie. Which is a shame since the first movie is so good. For its ten year anniversary, the original will be screening in theaters for the first time. If you have not seen it before, now is your chance. Even when your podcast revolves around horror movies, Halloween is still a special time of year. We are starting off 2026 with a look at a slasher from the 80s that you do not hear too much about. And probably for good reason since Hack-O-Latern does nothing to stand out. Which is not to say it is a bad watch. On the contrary, it is a lot of fun. We talk about the plentiful nudity and how we look things differently, one of the funniest dream sequences we have ever seen, and the surprisingly tight story.
