  #373 Four hours to pass, five hours to fail 四当五落という言葉を聞いたことがありますか？ 受験生への言葉で、4時間しか寝なければ受かる、 5時間寝たら落ちる、という意味です。 絶対にもっと寝た方がいいと今は思いますが、 高校のときは本当に信じていました。 夏休みは、日本の受験生にとってたくさん勉強できる大事な時期です。 夏はいつも、がんばれ受験生！という気持ちになります。 しとうごらくという ことばを きいたことが ありますか？ じゅけんせいへの ことばで、よじかんしか ねなければ うかる、 ごじかん ねたら おちる、という いみです。 ぜったいに もっと ねた ほうが いいと いまは おもいますが、 こうこうの ときは ほんとうに しんじていました。 なつやすみは、にほんの じゅけんせいに とって たくさん べんきょうできる だいじな じきです。 なつは いつも、がんばれ じゅけんせい！という きもちに なります。 Have you ever heard the expression “Four hours to pass, five hours to fail”? It’s a saying for students preparing for entrance exams. It means that if you sleep only four hours, you’ll pass, but if you sleep five hours, you’ll fail. Now, I definitely think it’s much better to get more sleep, but when I was in high school, I truly believed it. Summer vacation is an important time for Japanese students because they can spend more time studying for their entrance exams.   #371 Okinawa trip ⑤: Okinawa’s delicious noodle dishes 最後に、沖縄で食べた美味しいものをご紹介します。 沖縄といえば沖縄そばが有名で、それぞれの島に色々なそばがあります。 今回行った久米島には久米島そばがあり、 味噌ともやしを使っているのが特徴です。 どちらかというとラーメンのような味で、毎日食べたいのが沖縄そば、 海で遊んだ後などにぴったりなのが、久米島そばだなと思いました。 デザートには、ぜひ「ぜんざい」を食べてみてください さいごに、おきなわで たべた おいしいものを ごしょうかいします。 おきなわといえば おきなわそばが ゆうめいで、 それぞれの しまに いろいろな そばが あります。 こんかい いった くめじまには くめじまそばが あり、 みそと もやしを つかっているのが とくちょうです。 どちらかというと らーめんのような あじで、 まいにち たべたいのが おきなわそば、 うみで あそんだ あとなどに ぴったりなのが、 くめじまそばだなと おもいました。 でざーとには、ぜひ「ぜんざい」を たべてみてください。 Finally, I’d like to share some of the delicious food I enjoyed in Okinawa. When people think of Okinawa, Okinawa soba is probably the first dish that comes to mind. Interestingly, each island has its own local version. On Kume Island, there’s a specialty called Kumejima soba, which is made with miso and bean sprouts. Its flavor is actually closer to ramen than traditional Okinawa soba. If I had to choose, Okinawa soba is the one I’d happily eat every day, while Kumejima soba is perfect after playing at the beach.   #370 Okinawa trip ④: A whole new world underwater 皆さんは、シュノーケリングやダイビングが好きですか？ 私は、鳥取の暗くて波が荒い日本海で育ったせいか、 海の中で目を開けるのは、恐怖でしかなかったのですが、 今回、はての浜で生まれて初めてシュノーケリングをしました。 と言っても、浅いところで魚を見ただけなのですが、 黄色や青のカラフルな魚を見つけるのが、とても楽しかったです。 ダイビングができるようになったら、 もっと海を楽しめるだろうなと思いました。 みなさんは、しゅのーけりんぐや だいびんぐが すきですか？ わたしは、とっとりの くらくて なみが あらい にほんかいで そだったせいか、 うみの なかで めを あけるのは きょうふでしか なかったのですが、 こんかい、はてのはまで うまれて はじめて しゅのーけりんぐを しました。 といっても、あさい ところで さかなを みただけなのですが、 きいろや あおの からふるな さかなを みつけるのが、 とても たのしかったです。 だいびんぐが できるように なったら、 もっと うみを たのしめるだろうなと おもいました。 Do you like snorkeling or scuba diving? Maybe it’s because I grew up by the Sea of Japan in Tottori, where the ocean is often dark and the waves are rough, but opening my eyes underwater used to be one of my biggest fears. This time, I went snorkeling for the very first time at Hatenohama Beach. To be honest, I only looked at fish in the shallow water, but it was so much fun spotting colorful yellow and blue fish.
