Yann LeCun: podcast appearances and interviews

Yann André LeCun is a French-American computer scientist and a prominent figure in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, and image compression. He holds the position of Jacob T. Schwartz Professor of Computer Science at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University. LeCun is renowned for his contributions to optical character recognition and computer vision through the development and application of convolutional neural networks. He is also recognized as one of the main creators of the DjVu image compression technology, working alongside Léon Bottou and Patrick Haffner. Additionally, LeCun co-developed the Lush programming language with Léon Bottou. He served as Chief AI Scientist at Meta Platforms before co-founding Advanced Machine Intelligence Labs in December 2025. In 2018, LeCun, along with Yoshua Bengio and Geoffrey Hinton, received the Turing Award from the Association for Computing Machinery for their pioneering work on deep learning. Due to his significant contributions, he is often regarded as one of the 'Godfathers of AI' and the 'Godfathers of Deep Learning'.
