Winston Raymond Peters is a New Zealand politician born on 11 April 1945. He has led the political party New Zealand First since its founding in 1993 and has served as the 25th minister of foreign affairs since November 2023. Peters is a long-serving member of Parliament, having been re-elected in the 2023 general election for a fifteenth term. His parliamentary career includes periods from 1979 to 1981, 1984 to 2008, and 2011 to 2020. He has held multiple significant roles, including serving three terms as deputy prime minister.
