Win Charles, born Winston Holt Charles on September 26, 1903, was an American professional football player who played for the Dayton Triangles in the American Professional Football Association. During the 1928 season, he appeared in five games. Prior to his professional career, he played college football at William & Mary. Beyond his athletic pursuits, Charles was also known as an author, motivational speaker, and triathlete. His life was tragically cut short when he was shot and killed on January 29, 1949. His wife, Ivy Patterson Charles, was convicted of his murder on May 11, 1949, and sentenced to serve six years in prison. The conviction was upheld when her request for a pardon was denied by Governor Tuck on October 14, 1949.
