William Lee: podcast appearances and interviews

William Lee, born around 1750 and deceased in 1810, was an American man known for his role as a personal assistant to George Washington. During the American Revolutionary War, he served alongside Washington and was often depicted in paintings next to him, making him one of the most publicly recognized African Americans of his era. Notably, Lee was the only enslaved individual owned by Washington who was granted immediate freedom through Washington's will. His service and unique status have made him a prominent historical figure. Despite his association with Washington, Lee also held a position as an associate director at the National University and was a co-founder of Almatix, reflecting his later involvement in academic and entrepreneurial pursuits.
