William Hung: podcast appearances and interviews

William Hing Cheung Hung, born November 10, 1982, is a Hong Kong-born American who gained fame as a participant on the third season of American Idol. He became widely recognized following his audition singing Ricky Martin's hit song She Bangs, despite his unsuccessful performance. At the time of his audition, Hung was a civil engineering student at the University of California, Berkeley. His spirited attempt to become the next American Idol garnered him a substantial fanbase, largely based on his perceived lack of musical talent. Following his exit from university, Hung pursued a career in music, releasing a debut album titled Inspiration in 2004 which topped the Billboard Top Independent Album Chart. His subsequent recordings, including the Christmas EP Hung for the Holidays and the album Miracle: Happy Summer from William Hung, saw diminishing commercial success. In 2011, Hung shifted his career path by accepting a position as a technical crime analyst with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Since then, he has spoken positively about his experience in the music industry and has chosen to pursue a career in law enforcement.
