Warren Bradley: podcast appearances and interviews

Warren Bradley was an English footballer known for his time with Manchester United and England. Born in Hyde, Cheshire, he was educated at Hyde Grammar School and played for Bolton Wanderers youth and B teams for eight years before attending Hatfield College at the University of Durham. He also appeared for Durham City and joined Bishop Auckland, a leading amateur club, in 1955. Following the Munich air disaster in February 1958, Bradley was temporarily loaned to Manchester United's reserve team, along with other amateur internationals, to help the club fulfill its fixtures. He recovered from injuries sustained in the crash and was signed as a part-time professional by Manchester United in November 1958, while working as a teacher in Stretford. Bradley made his first-team debut against his former club Bolton Wanderers. In May 1959, he was selected for the England national team by manager Walter Winterbottom, becoming the first and only player to appear for both the professional and amateur England teams in the same season. He earned three caps for England, including a tour of Mexico and the United States, scoring twice. Bradley's career at Manchester United did not advance further, and he was transferred to Bury in 1962 for £2,500. After leaving Bury, he had brief periods with Northwich Victoria, Macclesfield Town, and Bangor City before retiring from football in 1966. Following his retirement, he became a headteacher, notably at Deane School in Bolton, and engaged with the Manchester United ex-players association.
