Walden Bello: podcast appearances and interviews

Walden Flores Bello, born November 11, 1945, is a Filipino academic and public intellectual known for his progressive views. He has served as a member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines and holds academic positions as an international adjunct professor at Binghamton University and as a professor of sociology and public administration at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Bello is also the executive director of the regional policy think-tank Focus on the Global South and is the founder and chairperson of the left-wing alliance Laban ng Masa. Throughout his career, he has been actively engaged in promoting systemic change with a focus on social justice and democratic socialism. In October 2021, Bello filed his candidacy for vice president in the 2022 Philippine elections, running as the vice-presidential candidate alongside labor leader Leody de Guzman. Their campaign platform emphasizes progressive policies, democratic socialism, and measures aimed at addressing systemic inequalities and supporting the poor.
