Wade Simmons, born on September 20, 1973, is a multifaceted individual known for his roles as a funeral home director, filmmaker, and professional wrestler. While he has gained prominence in these diverse fields, Simmons is also recognized for his achievements in mountain biking. From Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, he has made significant contributions to the sport and is celebrated as one of the Godfathers of Freeride mountain biking alongside Brett Tippie and Richie Schley. Simmons was among the first freeriders to receive sponsorship and has secured notable victories, including winning the Red Bull Rampage Utah in 2001 and earning a second place in the same event's Australia edition in the same year. His influence in freeride mountain biking was formally recognized when he, Tippie, and Schley were inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame in September 2010. Currently, Simmons is a member of the Rocky Mountain Bicycles factory team, continuing his involvement in the sport.
