Troy Aikman: podcast appearances and interviews

Troy Kenneth Aikman, born on November 21, 1966, is an American former professional football quarterback and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He played in the National Football League for twelve seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. Aikman transferred from the Oklahoma Sooners to play college football at UCLA, where he won the Davey O'Brien Award in 1988. Selected first overall in the 1989 NFL draft by the Cowboys, he was named to six Pro Bowls and won three Super Bowls with the team. He was also named the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XXVII, which marked the franchise's first Super Bowl victory in over ten years. Aikman was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008. Since retiring from professional football in 2000, he has built a career in sports broadcasting. Aikman served as the color commentator for NFL on Fox from 2001 to 2021. He has also been a color commentator for Monday Night Football on ESPN and ABC since 2022. Alongside his broadcasting duties, Aikman and his partner Joe Buck are recognized as the longest tenured announcer pairing in NFL history. In addition to his sports broadcasting career, he has been involved in sports team ownership, including co-owning the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team Hall of Fame Racing from 2005 to 2009 with Roger Staubach, and he is also a part-owner of the San Diego Padres in Major League Baseball.
