Trixie Mattel: podcast appearances and interviews

Brian Michael Firkus, known by the stage name Trixie Mattel, is an American drag queen, television personality, singer-songwriter, DJ, and entrepreneur. Originally from Marinette County, Wisconsin, she is recognized for her exaggerated, 1960s-inspired style, distinctive eye makeup, and a musical repertoire that combines comedy with acoustic pop and folk-country music. Firkus gained prominence through her participation in the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2015 and her subsequent victory on the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. She has made guest appearances in various iterations of the Drag Race franchise and served as a judge on the spinoff series Queen of the Universe from 2021 to 2023. Alongside fellow drag queen Katya Zamolodchikova, Firkus formed the comedy duo Trixie and Katya. Together, they starred in the web series UNHhhh from 2016 to 2023 and its spin-off The Trixie & Katya Show from 2017 to 2018. They also host the Netflix review web series I Like to Watch, which began in 2019, and the podcast The Bald and the Beautiful, launched in 2020. As a musician, Firkus has released several albums, beginning with Two Birds in 2017 and One Stone in 2018, both of which charted on Billboard's Folk Albums. Her third album, Barbara, was released in 2020 with an electro-folk sound, followed by the double album The Blonde & Pink Albums in 2022, featuring power pop. Firkus starred in the documentary Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts and launched a skincare brand, Trixie Cosmetics, in 2019. She authored a best-selling book with Katya and has a popular YouTube channel. Firkus is also the author of a renovation docuseries, Trixie Motel, and owns a significant collection of Barbie dolls.
