Trevor Bauer: podcast appearances and interviews

Trevor Andrew Bauer is an American professional baseball pitcher currently playing for the Diablos Rojos del México of the Mexican League. He previously played in Major League Baseball for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Bauer also spent time in Nippon Professional Baseball with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. During his college years at UCLA, he contributed to a 22-game win streak and a College World Series appearance in 2010, earning the Golden Spikes Award and the National Pitcher of the Year Award the following year. Selected third overall in the 2011 MLB draft by the Diamondbacks, Bauer made his major league debut in June 2012, becoming the first from his draft class to reach the majors. His early career involved some clashes with teammates and a trade to the Cleveland Indians in December 2012. Bauer spent years refining his pitching mechanics and became a fixture in the Indians' starting rotation by 2016. He made his first MLB All-Star appearance in 2018 but later faced setbacks due to injury and struggles on the mound. In 2019, he was traded to the Reds, where he achieved the Cy Young Award in 2020, becoming the first Reds player to do so during the pandemic-shortened season. Bauer signed with the Dodgers in 2021 and led the league in strikeouts and innings pitched through July. His time with the Dodgers was marred by an MLB investigation into sexual assault allegations, resulting in a suspension that was eventually reduced; he was released in January 2023. Bauer then signed with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in Japan and subsequently with the Diablos Rojos del México, where he won the Pitcher of the Year award and helped secure the 2024 championship. He continued to play in Japan before signing with the Long Island Ducks in 2026, later rejoining the Diablos Rojos for the remainder of that season.
