Paul Anthony Wright, known as Tony Wright, was an English film actor born on December 10, 1925, and he passed away on June 6, 1986. He was the son of actor Hugh E. Wright and was a contract player for the Rank Organisation for several years. In October 1956, John Davis, managing director of Rank, announced Wright as one of the actors under contract who was anticipated to become an international star. Wright appeared as the London-based private detective Slim Callaghan in several French films. Despite limited training and ability, and even with his distinctive blonde hair, Wright managed to secure the lead role in a franchise, supported by Britain’s largest studio, and gained recognition at a certain point in his career. His career was characterized by this brief period of prominence, which ultimately faded later on.
