Thomas Clive Wheelwright, born on 29 April 1953 in Huddersfield England, is a financial economist and the author of the book Tax-Free Wealth. He has worked in various roles including as a university tutor, stockbroker, and Group Economist for Legal & General Life Ltd. He has also held positions as a political adviser, serving as Senior Political Adviser to Prime Minister Paul Keating and Senior Economic Adviser to Minister Michael Lee. Wheelwright's political career includes a brief tenure as a member of the Australian Senate representing New South Wales from May 1995 to June 1996. He was appointed to fill a casual vacancy and was involved in notable activities such as advocating for protests against French nuclear testing in the Pacific. Following his departure from politics after an unsuccessful re-election bid, he established his own consulting firm and held advisory roles, including economic adviser to Gareth Evans, deputy opposition leader, and work in the corporate sector as Asia Pacific Public Affairs Director for Lucent Technologies in Hong Kong.
