Tom Selleck: podcast appearances and interviews

Thomas William Selleck, born on January 29, 1945, is an American actor known for his roles in television and film. His breakthrough role was playing private investigator Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I., which aired from 1980 to 1988. Selleck received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for this role and won in 1984. From 2010 to 2024, he portrayed NYC Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the television series Blue Bloods. Between 2005 and 2015, he played Jesse Stone in nine television films based on the novels by Robert B. Parker. In film, he is recognized for his role as architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby and its sequel, Three Men and a Little Lady. Selleck has appeared in over 50 film and television productions, including Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball, and Lassiter. His recurring television roles include Dr. Richard Burke in Friends, Lance White on The Rockford Files, and A. J. Cooper on Las Vegas. He also starred in the television Western film The Sacketts. Beyond acting, Selleck has been a spokesman for the National Rifle Association of America, endorsed National Review magazine, and co-founded the Character Counts! organization. He served in the California Army National Guard from 1967 to 1973, attaining the rank of sergeant.
