Tom Hooper: podcast appearances and interviews

Tom Hooper is a British-Australian filmmaker who has also held the role of Director of Business at Third Space Learning. With a career encompassing film and television, Hooper has received multiple awards including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award. His work began with short films made during his teenage years, and his first professional short, Painted Faces, was broadcast on Channel 4 in 1992. At Oxford University, he directed plays and television commercials. After completing his education, Hooper directed episodes for British television series such as Quayside, Byker Grove, EastEnders, and Cold Feet. During the 2000s, he directed notable BBC costume dramas including Love in a Cold Climate and Daniel Deronda, as well as the ITV revival of Prime Suspect. He gained international acclaim through HBO projects like Elizabeth I, Longford, and John Adams, the last of which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing. Hooper made his feature film debut with Red Dust in 2004, followed by The Damned United in 2009. His portrayal of historical events through film culminated with The King's Speech in 2010, which earned him the Academy Award for Best Director.
