Tito Santana: podcast appearances and interviews

Merced Solis, born on May 10, 1953, is an American and Mexican professional wrestler, trainer, and retired school teacher. He is best known for his time with the World Wrestling Federation between 1979 and 1993, where he performed under the ring name Tito Santana. Throughout his wrestling career, he remained a babyface character and achieved notable success, including being a two-time WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion and a two-time WWF Tag Team Champion with partners Ivan Putski and Rick Martel. Santana also won the 1989 King of the Ring tournament and participated in WrestleMania, notably winning the first WrestleMania match against The Executioner. He contributed to the transition period in professional wrestling between the 1980s Rock 'n Wrestling Connection era and the 1990s New Generation era. Solis was recognized for his contributions to the sport by being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2013. Despite being born and raised in Mission, Texas, he was billed from Tocula, Mexico, during his wrestling career. After retiring from active competition, Santana has continued to appear on the independent circuit. In addition to his wrestling career, he was also a schoolteacher until June 2023, when he retired from teaching.
