About Tim Pierce

Tim Pierce, born in 1958, is an American session guitarist and founder of Hive Aviation. Throughout his career, he has contributed to recordings and performances for a diverse array of artists including Joe Cocker, Crowded House, Goo Goo Dolls, Michael Jackson, Beth Hart, Roger Waters, Alice Cooper, Johnny Hallyday, Phil Collins, and the Cheetah Girls. He has played on numerous hit songs, such as the second-guitar parts on Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over," mandolins and slide guitar on the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris," a rhythm guitar segment in Michael Jackson's "Black or White," and guitar parts on the original recording of Bon Jovi's "Runaway." His contributions span a variety of musical styles and instruments, reflecting his versatility and skill as a guitarist. In addition to his session work, Pierce released a solo album titled Guitarland in 1995 on PRA Records. Since 2014, he has shared his expertise through a YouTube channel offering guitar tips drawn from his extensive industry experience. Pierce's musical influence extends beyond his recordings, and he maintains a residence in Los Angeles, California, with his wife Patty. Their partnership also includes Nigel Lundemo, Patty's son, who is involved in Pierce’s educational guitar membership business called the Masterclass, reflecting his ongoing commitment to music education.
